A Little Bit More
I spent time with myself this morning
Just listening to my thoughts
Rather than shutting them away
With the noise of an audio book
Or the songs on the radio
Or the business of the day
And as I listened to myself
I discovered I have dreams
I hope someday to realize
I have stories in my imagination
And emotions buried deep in my heart
In the end I understood myself
A little bit better than before
And it occurs to me that maybe
just maybe I should listen to myself
a little bit more
